Frequently Asked Questions
I thought my policy was with Long Term Preferred
Care, LTPC?
LTPC is an agency. We were the employer of the sales agents who were
responsible for actually marketing the policies with several insurance
companies. We are not actually an insurance company.
When
do I call LTPC and when do I call the insurance company?
LTPC can assist you if you’re contemplating making any policy
changes or want to review the benefits. The insurance companies actually
“administer” the policies so they take care of the premiums,
premium notices, addresses, claims, etc.
I
need to file a claim
You may contact the insurance company that issued your policy to initiate
a claim. Please click on the Insurance
Companies link for contact information.
I
didn’t get my bill
You may contact the insurance company that issued your policy to confirm
the address and request a new bill. Please click on the Insurance
Companies link for contact information.
I
need to change the bank that premiums are drafted from
You may contact the insurance company that issued your policy to request
the change. A new permission slip will be sent to you to return with
a voided check from your new account. Please click on the Insurance
Companies link for contact information.
I
can’t find my policy
You may contact the insurance company that issued your policy to request
another copy. Most companies will issue one replacement at no charge
but subsequent copies may require a fee. Please confirm that the policy
cannot be located in order to avoid any unnecessary fees. If a replacement
policy is needed, please click on the Insurance
Companies link for contact information.
I
need to change my address
You may notify our office with the updated information and we can forward
it to the insurance company that issued the policy.
The
policyholder is deceased and the policy needs to be cancelled
Please send a copy of the death certificate (a certified copy is not
necessary) to the insurance company that issued the policy. Please click
on the Insurance Companies link
for contact information.
I’ve
been unable to contact my local agent
Since LTPC no longer markets new plans, we no longer have “field
agents.” However, we do have agents and trained personnel on staff
to assist you with all your needs for your existing policy.
I need to review the policy, who do I contact?
If you are anticipating filing a claim and want to review benefits,
please contact the insurance company that issued the policy. They can
answer questions pertaining to your specific anticipated medical needs.
If it’s
just been a while and you don’t really remember what the policy
will cover – we’ll be glad to review the general provisions
and benefits with you.
Why
do I need the policy number?
Since we have thousands of clients and it isn’t uncommon for people
to have the same first and last name, we access information based on
the policy number.
I
don’t know where to find my policy number or the page in my policy
that discusses the benefits that I have.
The Schedule Page is usually page 3 of the policy. There may be several
loose pages with the policy but this page is usually bound within the
policy. It will list your specific policy benefits, premium, and the
policy number along with the name of the insured.
My
Schedule Page doesn’t match the premiums I’m paying and/or
the benefits don’t match what I remember purchasing.
If you have ever made a change to the policy benefits, most times a
whole new policy will not be issued. Usually just a new Schedule Page
will be sent showing the updated benefit and premium amounts. It is
not uncommon for this new page to be misplaced or not placed with the
policy. If you would like a corrected schedule page the insurance company
that issued the policy can send one to you. Please click on the Insurance
Companies link for contact information.
I
don’t remember the company that I bought the policy from
You can determine the company by looking at the policy number.
If your
policy number:
- begins
with 076 _ _ _ _ _ _ or C77 _ _ _ _ _ _, your policy is with CNA
- begins
with UDG or VDG, your policy is with GE
- begins
with 06- and your social security number, your policy is with Allianz

America
- Is

American Travellers who has since become Conseco
If your
number doesn’t match any of the above options, please give us
a call and we can help determine which company issued the policy.
